Jubilate choir

Jubilate, led by Sarah Stroh is an award-winning female choir known for its entertaining repertoire, high standard of performance and sense of fun.  Jubilate’s slogan is ‘Voices in Celebration’, which reflects their love of singing and laughter.  In May 2018 Jubilate won four trophies – including the prestigious Gold Cup for most outstanding choir – at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts. In December 2017 a track from the choir’s Christmas CD was broadcast on Classic FM and they have also been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, singing three pieces composed especially for the choir by Ailie Robertson as part of Making Music’s Adopt a Composer scheme.

Sarah Stroh began her musical studies at Hull University, where she obtained a First Class Honours degree. She then went on to specialize in singing at the Royal Academy of Music in London, graduating with Distinction and winning several prizes for performance of Early Music. Sarah has performed as soprano soloist both in the UK and abroad, including London’s Royal Albert Hall.  She is passionate about encouraging others to sing in both a solo and a choral capacity.  She has taught singing at St. Paul’s Girls’ School for many years and has been Musical Director of Jubilate since 1999.

Corra Sound, led by Amy Bebbington, is a newly formed women’s vocal ensemble with the shared goal of bringing interesting and diverse choral works to new audiences.  It is our aim to offer a platform to female music-making of the highest calibre.  We actively seek to promote female singers, leaders and composers via performance, recording, choral training platforms and commissioning.
